GREEDS REMINDED ME

about how I'm failing miserably at the summer goals I made. [greeds = here] she loves me more than you though, so dont get your hopes up. ANYWAYS. I just wanted to get back into my art, and get more physical (gym, yoga, KICK BOXING, whatever). All I've done this summer is sleep, eat, party, and watch tv. THAT IS A MESS! I think the first thing I need to do is get my sleeping together (as I type to you all at 12:48 in the fucking am), you're always more productive in the morning, I need a routine, I keep saying this, and I never make one. AHHHH. well I'm starting right now, by going to sleep! toodles!

Fab Find 001

so I feel like I now have a theme for my personal blog, and not just the random stuff I'm still gonna post anyways. As you know I write for DTY and Whitney (the founder) wants us all to have our own sections, everybody wants to do fashion or makeup or hair, whateverrr, I got the idea from my MUTHAFUCKING IDOL, Kimora Lee Simmons. Her first (maybe only) book is called "Fabulosity" and I kid you not it's like my bible, sits next to my bed and everything. She's saying no matter what budget, you have to do the best you can, etc. So although I dont have tons of money, I'm not a baller, I barely get any hours at work, I still find my life to be fabulous, and I wanna share with other pretty ladies how I live such a rich life. And that's where this all began, so thanks Whitney! I'm sure a lot of what I post here (especially the fab finds) will make their way over to DTY in a much cleaner and less opinionated way, lol. with that being said, I bring you the first of (hopefully) many, dun dun dun... a Fab Find!

now, dining can be an event in itself, you dont always have to hit the club and go wild, a lot of times me and my girlfriends just like to go out and enjoy good conversation and a nice meal. Upscale restaurants can take all the money in your pockets and then some, but what you dont know is often restaurants offer a fixed rate 3 course dinner. Now I'm in the DC metro area, and I love Oya (clickable), this is a fabulous restaurant, not only is it beautiful, the food is GREAT, but they offer a $29 dinner prix fixe. Now I got some pictures to share my meal with you guys, but they're kinda bootleg, cuz 1. I took them on my phone and 2. I didnt use the flash cuz I didnt wanna look extra pressed but I still wanted to share it with you guys!

my first course: crunchy shrimp sushi (the idea for the blog post only came to me half way through my 1st course, so only 4 pieces are pictured, but you really get 8)
* sushi is a meal in it's self so you know this is a deal

my entree: Roasted Chicken on a Rice Cake with Carrots in a current sauce and those little balls are not potatoes, they're honey dew melon ball halves.

my dessert: bittersweet molten chocolate cake w/ vanilla ice cream & caramel sauce.
this shit right here is the bomb.com! I kid you not.

so as you can see, you get a fine dining event with a tgi friday's type of budget. I had a diet coke along with my meal, my total was:

well folks, my room is still clean! lol. I still have to get rid of the bags of clothes I wanna give away, being kinda lazy on that... sorry room.

moving on... Monday was the BESTIE'S birthday, we went to cheesecake factory, ended up in NE for a little, poor Brittney was getting hit on by creepers left and right, lmao. But it was a good time, and now my Partner In Crime is legal! owwww! watch out DMV, its gonna be troubleeee.

I'm still debit card - less? I don't know if I shared that story or not, but my card stopped working, and I had to get a new one, etc. ugh I hate it, I don't like taking out cash, cuz I'll spend it, I like having my card so I can spend just what I need too, without extra. smh. SO i'm going to attempt to stay home this weekend... we'll see what happens.

I still need to establish a summer routine, cuz even though I have nothing to do besides working the 12 hours a week that I do, I need some discipline. My sleep is already starting to get jacked up again. its nooo goood. I said I was gonna pick up my art again, but we'll see. I'll work it out.

has gotten the best of me yet again. I want to tackle this room but I dont know where to begin, smh. Also you know when you don't have something you swear you need to do an activity you keep putting it off? Well we don't have those huge black trash bags, so I've been putting it off :/ Guess I need to just grab some white ones and get moving. Cuz this mess is starting to get on my nerves. What makes you lazy? How do you get out of it? Procrastination is my all time worst habbit, yuck. A lot of people say you have to just get up and start, but is it really that easy?

my closet

has gotten sick and thrown up on it's self... and I also think it's the reason as to why my room stays so messy, because I have no place to put my clothes! so I'm undergoing a project, I'm determined to clean out this closet, my drawers, everything! All things clothes related are getting attacked! I'm so tired of not knowing what I have, what I dont have, what I need, etc. nope! those days are over, my project of the week (well half a week, cuz I'm starting tomorrow) is the closet! And while I'm at it, I'm cleaning and rearranging my room too, yup! and I'll take pictures and put them up for miss Cookie to FINALLY SEE, over a year later, lol. updates coming soon!

I'm seeing it on Media Takeout, on other people's blogs, on myspace statuses (and not to knock nobody, cuz I'm glad you're doing your part to inform the uninformed). BUT DC has ALWAYS been one of the highest in the rankings when it comes to AIDS, STDs, whatever, you name it, its here. What makes ME sad is not that its now out done Africa, but that so few people knew about it before today. Like this isnt something new, why is this JUST being brought to people's attentions? Just goes to show how uninformed people truly are, hopefully this will bring a change.
here are the numbers just so you can understand what's going on:

At least 3 percent of District residents have HIV or AIDS, a total that far surpasses the 1 percent threshold that constitutes a "generalized and severe" epidemic, according to a report scheduled to be released by health officials tomorrow.

That translates into 2,984 residents per every 100,000 over the age of 12 -- or 15,120 -- according to the 2008 epidemiology report by the District's HIV/AIDS office.

"Our rates are higher than West Africa," said Shannon L. Hader, director of the District's HIV/AIDS Administration, who once led the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's work in Zimbabwe. "They're on par with Uganda and some parts of Kenya."

"We have every mode of transmission" -- men having sex with men, heterosexual and injected drug use -- "going up, all on the rise, and we have to deal with them," Hader said.
